  • Disease Control: Preventing, detecting, controlling, and eradicating animal diseases through vaccinations (e.g., FMD, East Coast Fever, Rabies) and surveillance.
  • Veterinary Public Health: Ensuring food safety via abattoir inspections, meat hygiene, and promoting standards for animal products.
  • Livestock Development: Implementing policies to boost livestock production, manage water/feed resources, and improve animal welfare.
  • Trade & Movement: Facilitating safe trade, regulating animal/product movement, and maintaining veterinary checkpoints.
  • Policy Implementation: Executing national livestock policies and legislation, aligning with development plans like the 8th National Development Plan (8NDP).
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working with farmers, councils, and partners for effective service delivery and market access.
