Mufulira Municipal Council Launches Child Health Week

Mufulira Municipal Council has officially launched the first round of the Child Health Week, a crucial initiative aimed at improving child health outcomes in the district. The campaign, themed “Building Resilient Systems for Universal Health Coverage: Leaving No Child Behind,” underscores the importance of equitable access to quality child health services.

District Commissioner Ms. Saboi Kabika, represented by District Administrative Officer Mr. Zakeyo Kamanga, emphasized the government’s commitment to delivering universal health coverage through cost-effective and quality child health services nationwide.

Town Clerk Mrs. Kasonde Chisanga Musongole urged parents to ensure their children under the age of five receive all required vaccinations and proper nutrition, highlighting the critical role parents play in promoting child health.

District Health Director Dr. Abel Hamoonga announced that the Child Health Week will run from June 24th to June 28th, 2025. The launch event was held at Clinic 5 in Kankoyo Constituency, marking the beginning of a week-long campaign to prioritize child health and well-being.
